About Stewart Chiropractic in Santa Cruz
Located in the Back in Shape Chiropractic center, Dr. Steven D. Stewart has been delivering quality chiropractic care to the Santa Cruz community since 1979.
People of all ages can benefit from the gentle alignment of our spinal bones, balancing the nerve and muscle "circuits" that maintain our health and wellness. Childhood strains and falls may interfere with the development of healthy postural habits. Children respond quickly to very gentle adjustments, setting the stage for a lifetime of wellness. Adults with busy lifestyles can help their bodies cope with stress or injury, often improving conditions that began forming years earlier. Athletic performance is enhanced. Older adults feel relief from many of the health issues that may come as our bodies age.
Our approach is simple. We believe that health and wellness are among our most valuable states in our journey through life. And while we generally meet people after they’ve lost their health, our commitment is two-fold:
1. Relief Care
When many people seek care in our office they have one goal: relief. So that’s where we start! During this initial stage of intensive care, we have several obligations:
- Uncover the underlying cause of the health problem
- Suggest a care plan to produce the fastest results possible
- Offer ways practice members can participate in their recovery
- Explain the value of post-symptomatic wellness care
2. Wellness Care
We encourage our patients to achieve the highest levels of wellness they can. While chiropractic adjustments work so well for relieving pain or other troubling symptoms, where I believe chiropractic really shines is in wellness care. Through educational opportunities (like this website), we hope to communicate the value of having regular chiropractic adjustments even when you're feeling fine. Think of it as a health "tune-up." Our desire is to see our practice members move from the prevailing sickness-care model of health (waiting for symptoms and then taking action) to the emerging wellness model.
